One can become a Member of BIX by providing the ISP License along with AS Number & IP Prefix.
The ISP License can be obtained from the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA)
The AS Number & IP Prefix can be obtained through the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) of Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). The Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre(RIPE NCC) is the RIR for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. The others are APNIC, LACNIC, ARIN and AfriNIC .
Members can register with RIPE NCC and obtain their information through http://ripe.net/membership/It’s simple! Just visit our Joining section and fill in the Online Application Form . Our Public Relations will get in touch with you within 24 hours and 48 hours if sent on Weekend.
The ISP License is issued by the TRA in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
If you are already in process with TRA but have received no confirmation on the license, then BIX cannot ensue with the Joining procedure.
In the instance where TRA has confirmed that the license will be granted to your organization, on the basis of producing a confirmation letter from TRA, BIX can proceed with the Joining procedure.

For the purpose of redundancy of links and convenience of its clients, BIX has introduced a second POP in the Kingdom.
The new POP is located in Juffair and its upto the Member discretion to take connectivity either from BIX – Seef or BIX – Juffair.
